About
Karting Genk, located in Genk in the Belgian province of Limburg near Hasselt, was founded in 1983 by Paul Lemmens. Known as “The Home of Champions,” the facility features a 1,300-meter professional circuit with 12 corners and a minimum width of 6 meters. The track hosts numerous FIA World Championships, European Championships, and has become legendary as a breeding ground for elite talent, with countless F1 drivers including Lewis Hamilton, Max Verstappen, Fernando Alonso, and Michael Schumacher training and competing here. Completely restyled in 2005 for FIA homologation, Genk has established itself as one of Europe’s most beautiful and challenging outdoor karting circuits.
AAO Comments:
When we needed a track to host the 2024 OKL World Finals, Genk was an obvious choice. However, this track is well known and well represented in karting simulators, which increased the pressure significantly to make our version stand out against some of the other great versions available for other platforms.
A lot of time went into small details surrounding the track to get the atmosphere correct in the middle of the Belgian forest. Capturing the environment authentically was crucial to delivering an immersive experience that does justice to one of Europe’s most prestigious karting venues. We’re confident our recreation of Genk will provide an authentic and atmospheric racing experience worthy of hosting the OKL World Final
To gain access to any of the OKL tracks for Kart Racing Pro an OKL membership is required. Visit the OKL store for all membership options.
